Nordic Aviation & Maritime Medical (namm.se) provides medical examinations and certification for aviation, maritime work, offshore work and work abroad. The service is run within Hesselmar & CO.

Medical expertise and regulations

The service is delivered by specialist physicians with several years of clinical experience from both acute care and outpatient work. Certification work, risk assessment and interpretation of medical regulations are integral parts of clinical practice.

Assessments and certificates are issued in accordance with applicable requirements and regulations for each area, including maritime and aviation (e.g. authority requirements and industry standards). Our aim is high medical quality combined with an efficient workflow and good availability.

How a visit works – in brief

  1. You book an appointment via the website for the certificate you need.
  2. Before the visit you receive information about what to bring, for example ID, glasses and previous certificates or a list of medications.
  3. During the visit an examination and assessment are carried out according to the requirements for the specific certificate.
  4. The certificate is issued in connection with the visit or as soon as any necessary additional information is available.

Cancellation and rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, we aim to be as flexible as possible. Information about deadlines and how to contact us is provided in your booking confirmation and on the website.

Records, confidentiality and privacy

Medical assessments and certificates are documented in accordance with Swedish patient data legislation. The information is used to assess your health in relation to current requirements and is stored according to applicable regulations. All information is handled with the same confidentiality as in other healthcare.

Which certificates can I book?

At namm.se you can book aviation medicals, maritime medicals (seafarer medical), offshore medicals, certificates for work abroad and several other types of certificates. The “Certificates” page provides an overview.

How long does a visit take?

The duration depends on the type of certificate and whether additional tests are needed. Most visits are completed within 30–60 minutes. You will receive an approximate time in the booking information.

When will my certificate be ready?

Certificates are usually issued in connection with the visit. If complementary tests or reports are needed, the certificate is issued as soon as these are available.

What does “accredited under applicable rules” mean?

It means assessments and certificates are handled in line with the requirements and regulations relevant to each area (e.g. maritime, aviation and employer/industry standards).
